I have worked for Burrell Colour Imaging, one of the most respected professional photographic labs in the industry, as a Marketing Sales Representative since 1991. I am responsible for helping customers with the growth of their photography business.
My experience in photography began in 1973, when I started my own business as a commercial and industrial photographer. My client list included; Kodak, Southern California First Bank, Union Bank of California, SDG&E, Willis Allen Company, La Jolla Cancer Research Foundation, R.K. Evans Graphic Design and Z Communications.
During this time, I also owned Second Exposure Camera , a photo equipment, camera retail, and rental store.
From 1975 to 1979 I was an Instructor at San Diego Community College, where I developed the Business of Photography Program. I was also a photography instructor at Francis Parker School from 1980 – 1982. Teaching at a private school was a great experience. I had an opportunity to review the old “pin-hole camera days”.
I have been involved in several photography organizations; The Professional Photographers of California (PPC), - Vendor advisory committee, Chairman of West Coast School of Photography, Chairman of the Photography Advisory Committee at Palomar College, President of the San Diego Chapter of ASMP. I have also had an opportunity to speak on the subject, Growing your business in a changing economy, at a number of PPC affiliate associations.
I am told that one of my strongest attributes is my reputation in the photographic industry; and that I am respected for my willingness to share knowledge of all facets of photography that I have accumulated over the last 47 years, and in addition to my integrity in relationships with customers, non-customers and other vendors.
My hobbies include, culinary arts, in which I earned a Certificate of Completion from San Diego Community College, and of course Photography.
For relaxation: a great single malt scotch, traditional jazz, Pink Floyd, Prince, no brainer movies, and some good ones with my wife, and good friends will round off a short weekend.
